Foundation repair
When a wall or slab edge cracks, we find out why before we fix it, and on Chino homes that means looking at the footing, not just the crack.
Classic Chino Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor based in Chino, CA. We repair cracked block walls, worn mortar joints and tired chimneys, and we build new walls, walkways, pavers and outdoor kitchens for Chino homes.

Chino is home base for us. Our jobs here run from older houses near the middle of town to newer tract homes down in The Preserve, plus bigger lots with sheds and long fence lines. Nearly every one of them has block walls between yards, and a lot of our calls start with a wall that's leaning, cracked or shedding mortar. The price moves with the size of the job, how much has to come out before we rebuild, the brick, block or stone you pick, and how easily our crew can get equipment to it. The schedule turns on the weather and, when the job needs a permit, on the city's inspections. I'll write you a figure once I've looked at your job in person. We do the same work next door in Chino Hills and up the road in Ontario.
Chino gets plenty of days in the 90s and 100s and very little rain, and that heat dries mortar and fresh concrete fast, so in summer we start early and keep new work damp while it cures. Parts of southern Chino, including areas of The Preserve and around Prado Dam, are mapped in fire hazard severity zones, so tell us if you're there and planning a fireplace or outdoor kitchen. On older walls the sun has usually worn the joints thin, so I check what's underneath before I quote a patch.
We're licensed and insured, we've been in business since 2017, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee, so you know who you're dealing with from the first visit.
When your job needs a permit, we apply for it and plan the work around the city's inspections, and if it isn't clear, we check with the city's building office before we start.
A crack or crumbling joint usually has a reason behind it, and I'd rather find that reason and fix it than lay a quick patch that fails again next year.
When a wall or slab edge cracks, we find out why before we fix it, and on Chino homes that means looking at the footing, not just the crack.
Loose bricks, cracked crowns and worn joints on older Chino chimneys get repaired with mortar matched to the old work, so the fix holds and doesn't stand out.
We grind out mortar joints worn thin by sun and weather and pack in fresh mortar, which saves sound brick that only looks tired from the street.
Cracked, chipped or loose bricks get cut out and replaced one at a time, matched as closely as we can to the brick already on your house.
We dig out, pack a solid base and lay pavers for Chino driveways that carry cars and trucks, with the edges held tight so the pavers are less likely to shift.
For yards with a grade change, we build block or stone retaining walls with drainage behind them, because water trapped behind a wall is what usually pushes it over.
Older brick and stone around Chino often has years of life left, so we clean, repoint and replace only what's failed instead of tearing out good masonry.
We build brick and stone fireplaces and hearths, planning the firebox, chimney and finish together so the fireplace draws well and fits the room it sits in.
We put stone veneer on fireplaces, walls and house fronts over a properly prepared backing, because veneer that's stuck on fast is the kind that pops loose later.
Block walls line most Chino yards, and we build new ones and repair leaning or cracked ones, with steel and grout wherever the wall needs them.
We lay block foundation walls for additions, garages and raised floors, with the footing, steel and grout set up so the structure above sits square and level.
We build outdoor kitchens in block, brick and stone, with counters and grill surrounds sized to your appliances, for Chino backyards that get used most of the year.
We lay brick, paver and stone walkways from the driveway to your door or around the yard, built on a packed base that keeps the path flat underfoot.
We build brick garden, yard and planter walls on proper footings, and we help you pick the brick and mortar color so the wall suits your house.
We set natural stone for walls, steps, columns and planters, fitting each piece by hand so the joints stay tight and the stone carries its own weight.
When only some joints have cracked or dropped out, we repoint those areas with matched mortar instead of redoing the whole wall, which keeps the cost down.
Send the form or call, and we'll reply within one business day to set a time. I come out, look at the job and write you a free estimate, with no obligation to go ahead.
I come out myself to look at the job, ask what you've noticed and write the estimate, so the person pricing the work is the one who's seen it.
The crew that shows up is ours, and I check on the job as it goes, so anything an opened wall shows us gets dealt with right then.
Call (909) 479-6261 Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 9 PM, or weekends from 7 AM to 9 PM, if you'd rather talk it through than fill in a form.
Here are the permit and license questions Chino homeowners ask before a wall, chimney or brick job gets started.
Chino requires a building permit for all work except what the California codes exempt, so a wall, chimney or foundation job is worth checking before it starts. The city's older FAQ lists painting, wallpaper, carpet, tile and leaky faucet repairs as exempt, not masonry, and it says to call the Building Division. When your job needs a permit, we apply for it.
A Chino building permit runs out 180 days after it's issued, or 180 days after work stops or is abandoned, according to the Building Division's FAQ. The Building Official can grant one 180-day extension at no cost if a letter giving the reason arrives before the permit expires. We plan our work around the city's inspections so a permitted job keeps moving.
Yes. The city requires a business license for anyone doing business in Chino, and that includes contractors and servicemen from out of town. The license is good for one year and still has to be renewed if the city's courtesy reminder never arrives, so it's a fair question to ask any contractor you're thinking of hiring.
The California Contractors State License Board says anyone who builds or alters a building or other structure in the state must hold its license when the project needs a building permit, uses additional workers, or costs $1,000 or more in labor and materials across one or more contracts. We're licensed and insured for the work we do.
Besides Chino, we have pages for the cities below, and we work in others around them too. If yours isn't listed, call (909) 479-6261 and ask.
A crack or loose joint caught early is usually a smaller repair, so call (909) 479-6261 or send the form while it's still small.
