Foundation repair
When a crack in your slab or stem wall keeps widening, we dig in to find out why and repair the footing itself, not just the line you can see.
Classic Chino Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor based in Chino, CA. We work across Ontario fixing cracked block walls, worn mortar joints and tired chimneys, and we build new walls, walkways and outdoor kitchens.

Ontario sits right next to Chino, so the houses we work on here look a lot like the ones at home. In the older parts of the city we see brick chimneys, porches and block walls that have been patched more than once. In the newer tracts it's stuccoed block walls, paver driveways and backyards waiting for a fire pit or an outdoor kitchen. The calls match what we hear in Pomona and Rancho Cucamonga, and it's usually a crack that keeps coming back or a wall that's started to lean.
The price here usually depends on four things: how far the damage runs past what you can see, how much has to come out first, whether we have to hunt for brick or stone that matches, and how easy it is to get into your side yard. The schedule turns mostly on whether the job needs a city permit and inspections, and on how long matching material takes to come in. I'll walk the job with you and put your number on the estimate. On older Ontario houses that have been patched a few times, most of the work is getting past the old repairs to the sound masonry underneath.
I come out to your house, ask what you've noticed and look over the whole wall or chimney before I write the estimate, because the cause often isn't where the crack is.
The people who show up are our own crew, not someone hired for the day. I check on the job as it goes so the work matches what we talked about.
Good brick and stone can last a long time if you treat them right. We'd rather fix what's making it fail than smear on a quick patch that only hides the problem until it cracks again.
When a crack in your slab or stem wall keeps widening, we dig in to find out why and repair the footing itself, not just the line you can see.
Older chimneys here often have loose bricks up high and a cracked concrete crown on top. We rebuild what's failing and repoint the joints that are still sound.
If mortar is sandy or falling out of the joints, we grind it out to a solid depth and pack in new mortar that matches the old in color and strength.
We cut out cracked, chipped or crumbling bricks on walls, steps and planters and replace them with brick matched by size and color, so the repair blends in.
We dig out the old driveway, build up and pack a gravel base, and lay pavers that hold up to your cars because the base underneath is done right.
For yards with a slope or a drop at the fence line, we build block or stone retaining walls with drainage behind them, so trapped water doesn't push them over.
On older brick and stone that's worn, stained or badly patched over the years, we take off the bad repairs and bring the masonry back without hurting the original.
We build new brick or stone fireplaces and refit tired ones, setting the firebox, hearth and surround so they look right in the room and burn the way they should.
We set thin stone veneer over stucco fronts, columns and fireplaces, and we do the backing and mesh properly first so the stone stays put and moisture can drain.
A lot of Ontario yards are fenced with block. We build new block walls on a proper footing, or repair leaning and cracked sections to match what's already there.
For additions, garages and raised floors, we lay block foundation walls on a solid footing with steel inside and the cells filled, so the building above sits level.
We build the block base, counters and stone or brick facing for outdoor kitchens and barbecue islands, and we leave room for the grill, the gas line and any doors you want.
We lay brick, paver and stone walkways from the driveway to the door or along the side yard, on a packed base so they stay flat underfoot.
For a garden wall, planter or front-yard wall in brick, we set the footing, lay each row level and finish the joints neatly, so the wall holds up and looks good.
We build walls, steps, columns and fire pits from natural stone, fitting each piece by hand so the joints stay tight and the work looks like it belongs there.
When only a few joints are cracked or missing, we fill just those with fresh mortar, matching the color and joint shape so the repair doesn't stand out on the wall.
Send the form and we'll reply within one business day to set a time. I'll come out to your Ontario house, look at the job with you and write the estimate, with no obligation to book us.
The estimate is free and done on site, because I'd rather see the wall, chimney or yard in person than guess at a number from a photo.
Add a line about where the crack is, how long it's been there or what you want built. That gives me a head start on the right questions before I come out.
Classic Chino Concrete and Masonry is licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. You know where you stand before we start.
Here's what homeowners in Ontario usually ask us about licenses, permits and paying for a masonry job before they hire anyone.
Yes, if the job needs a building permit, uses hired workers or comes to $1,000 or more in labor and materials, because the state's contractors board requires a license for any of those. A job can be exempt only when it needs no permit, uses no employees and totals under $1,000. A bigger job can't be split up to get under that line. We're licensed and insured.
The city's Building Department decides whether your job needs one, since it issues building permits in Ontario and handles plan review and inspections. When a job needs a permit, we apply for it and plan the work around the inspections. If it's not clear, we check with the building office before we start. After one free extension, the city charges $150 for each further residential permit extension.
Under the state's contractors board guidance, a contractor can't ask for more than $1,000 or 10 percent of the total contract price, whichever is less. After that, each payment is listed in the contract and based on work completed or materials delivered. The rule covers all home improvement projects, so masonry work falls under it too.
Besides Ontario, these are the cities that have their own page on our site. If your city isn't listed, call (909) 479-6261 and ask.
We're open every day until 9 PM, so call (909) 479-6261 or send the form whenever it suits you.
